Greening your Holidays
With the holidays approaching, Torontonians will be heading out in droves to pick up Christmas trees and all the trimmings to decorate for the festive season. On the surface, it may seem more eco-friendly to buy a fake tree that can be reused, but according to Earth 911 and the National Christmas Tree Association, real Christmas trees are the best environmental choice.

Greening Toronto challenges post-secondary students in the Toronto area to take a green leap forward and imagine what it might be like to live in an ecologically sustainable metropolis. In 2008, half of the Earth’s population, and 80% of Canadians, will live in urban areas. Healthy, vibrant cities are only possible if people are engaged in transforming their urban communities into places where they want to live.
