Green Arts Barns application deadline

January 24, 2008

The deadline is fast approaching for applications to Artscape’s Green Arts Barns studios for professional artists. Tenants of the work-only and rent-geared-to-income live/work studios will contribute to the creative synergy, imagination and community that will transform Toronto’s historic Wychwood TTC Streetcar Repair Barns in the St. Clair and Bathurst neighbourhood into a model for innovative creative redevelopment in North America.

At 76 Wychwood Avenue, south of St. Clair and west of Bathurst, the Green Arts Barns will employ green technology and be the first heritage building in Toronto to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. Construction is scheduled to be complete by fall 2008.

The project will be a multi-faced community centre and unique meeting place where arts and culture, environmental leadership, heritage preservation, urban agriculture and affordable housing will be brought together.

How to apply:
If you are a professional artist interested in applying for a work-only studio or RGI live/work studio at the Green Arts Barns, check out Artscape’s website for applications and answers to frequently asked questions.

Applications are due by January 31 at 5pm.
