Help renew our urban forest

April 25, 2008

Each year an annual Trees Across Toronto city-wide planting event is held on the last Saturday of April - that’s tomorrow! Show up at one of five planting sites between 10am and 12pm on April 26 to learn how to plant a tree and help grow our urban forest.

Planting day tips for volunteers:

  • Gloves and shovels are provided.
  • Plantings go rain or shine.
  • Some sites are muddy - so you might get dirty!
  • Portable toilets will be at each location.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Dress for the weather. You may need a raincoat and rubber boots or sunscreen and a hat.

Locations: Colonel Sam Smith Park, Earl Bales Park, Eglinton Flats, McCowan District Park, and Sun Valley - Lower Don Valley. Check out the Trees Across Toronto website for maps and more info.
