Green your yoga at 889 Yonge

May 3, 2008

The ever increasing popularity of yoga in Toronto reflects the awareness of individuals to protect and promote their health and well-being, physically and spiritually. Sisters Christine and Emily Russell also hope to promote the health of the planet with 889 Yonge, the green yoga & holistic lifestyle company they opened just over a year ago. In an entirely eco-friendly and toxin-free space, 889 Yonge offers yoga, a holistic spa, holistic medicine and a green lifestyle boutique.

889 provides yoga classes at all levels, custom and corporate sessions, a holistic medical practice with a naturopath and doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, and an on-site boutique selling eco-friendly wares from Edun, Loomstate, Stewart + Brown, REN skin care and more.

The space at 889 has been constructed and furnished entirely with environmentally friendly and sustainable materials. The Russells’ mission is to make as little environmental impact as possible while educating clients about how to make eco-friendly lifestyle choices. The studio’s commitment to sustainable living includes the following initiatives:
